Sport at Horizon
Horizon English School is committed to sport and physical education (PE).
Children will take PE lessons twice weekly and a number of extra-curricular activities are provided by the school for children in Years 3-6.
Sports include: Swimming; Football; Rugby; Netball; Rounders; Running Club and Athletics.
Children are encouraged to participate in competitive team fixtures in these sports with other British primary schools in Dubai, either playing Home games here at Horizon or travelling by bus to Away games at other schools. This enhances competitive spirit in sport and teaches children important lessons about both winning and losing. Our students take great pride in representing their school and being part of a sports team.
Cognita ENRICH ME sports programmes provide children with extra opportunity to develop their skills in these sports.
Several external providers also offer a range of paid-for sports including tennis and gymnatics and can be booked directly with the providers.
Sport at Horizon
Proud to take part in the annual
BSME Games
Horizon English School participates in the BSME (British Schools Middle East) Games every year. The Games are the pinnacle of member schools’ sporting calendar and is the leading inter-country multiple sport competition in the Middle East.
The purpose of the Games is to provide students with a variety of sporting opportunities at an appropriate level in a safe and competitive environment. The Games ensures equal participation and opportunity for both boys and girls and expands students’ learning experience in sportsmanship and in the value of healthy competition.
Horizon enters into the medium sized schools category and won in 2023, an achievement we are very proud of indeed!
